Read on to learn more about the good work that Habitat Cape Cod is doing our our local community and beyond…
Habitat Cape Cod is local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, Inc. which was founded in 1976 as a faith-based housing ministry with a concern for the shelter needs of human beings locally, nationally, and around the globe.
*Our Cape Cod affiliate, like U.S. affiliates in well over 1,000 communities, primarily focuses on LOCAL WORK. WE have BUILT OVER 140 AFFORDABLE HOMES on Cape Cod in the 30 years we have been here, and NOW SERVE an average of TEN FAMILIES each year with an affordable home ownership opportunity. We ALSO have sent volunteer teams to RESPOND TO DISASTERS like Katrina in the Gulf region, Sandy in New Jersey, and also to Western MA when those affiliates sent out appeals for extra assistance.
We tithe 10% on unrestricted donations to help fund homes in developing countries such as Haiti (including their disaster response) and we are PROUD TO NOW ORGANIZE TEAMS TO VOLUNTEER ON GLOBAL VILLAGE TRIPS. When churches, individuals, business or grantors restrict their donations to certain homes or projects, we absolutely honor that restriction and KEEP THOSE FUN
DS LOCAL for the home or projected designated.
Please visit Habitatcapecod.org to learn more about the work we are doing in our community and beyond.
Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity where you can make a difference in the lives of Cape Cod families? Would you like to help a great cause while making new friends and staying active?
Both Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod ReStore locations in Yarmouth and Falmouth are seeking volunteers to help with cashiering, greeting customers & donors, staging furniture & home goods, photography, social media, donation receiving and more. We also really need some MUSCLE to help load and unload trucks!
YOU can make a difference by volunteering at our ReStores; Sales at the ReStore make it possible for Habitat to sell its homes at affordable prices, while helping our environment by excellent used goods, like furniture, cabinets and appliances out of our town dumps.
The ReStores offer volunteers short, flexible shifts Monday through Saturday, 9am-1pm and 1pm-5pm. (Shifts times can also be flexible and you can volunteer as often or as little as you like).
Stop by 28 Whites Path in South Yarmouth and ask for manager Austen Rumberger or stop by 805 Gifford Street in Falmouth and see manager Peter Small to join the ReStore volunteer team.
If you have questions or need more information, please reach out to Habitat Cape Cod’s Volunteer Services Manager Tara Cronin firstname.lastname@example.org or 508.362.3559 x 16.
