Protect Your Property Rights at Mashpee Town Meeting, Monday, October 15th

The Mashpee Chamber of Commerce joins our business members in urging Mashpee Voters to vote with us at the Town Hall Meeting on Monday, October 15th at 7 pm at the Mashpee High School.

VOTE YES on Article #16.

Article 16 retains rights that have always existed regarding the ability to renovate and rebuild your home in the town of Mashpee. If this article is not passed the majority of Mashpee homeowners will lose their rights to tear down and rebuild their homes, property values will decline, and real estate taxes will increase.

Many homes in Mashpee were built at a time when building and energy codes did not exist. These homes are full of mold, have no proper foundations, have two by four construction, and many other defects that require a full rebuild. Rebuilding is the only feasible way to solve these issues, and a yes vote on Article 16 will allow rebuilding to continue.

The board of Selectmen, the Finance Committee, Zoning Board of Appeals, and Planning Board have voted to support Article 16. They understand that Mashpee homeowners should continue to have the right to provide decent housing for individuals and their families. Also our retirees should be able to build their homes to suit their needs.

Please join us at Town Meeting on Monday, October 15th at 7 pm at the Mashpee High School and VOTE YES ON ARTICLE 16. Preserve your existing property rights!
