“Out of the Woods” is an eclectic exhibit featuring work by artists Julie DeMello, Chris O’Dell Ferguson, Carol Flax, Amy Rice and Candice Ronesi. The artists use diverse mediums with a prominent commonality; trees have proven to be their subject of choice.

Julie DeMello’s piece “Reaching Ballerina” is a black and white photograph of a single tree with complex textures reminiscent of Ansel Adams.

“Sleeping” is a tree masterfully rendered by Chris O’Dell Ferguson using a combination of acrylic paint and pyrography, the technique of wood burning.

Carol Flax uses paper mosaic in her work “Eminent Domain”, showing a buck in the snow emerge from a backdrop of woods.

“Beyond the Trees” by Candice Ronesi is a richly detailed acrylic painting which draws you down the tree-lined bike path of the Cape Cod Canal.

Out of the Woods is certain to appeal to tree lovers and art lovers alike.
