The Summer is finally upon us! Longer daylight hours, warmer weather, and the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. One of the most significant parts of summer is music, whether that be national week-long music festivals to local concerts whose feature band is local musicians.
There are various summer concert series held across Cape Cod throughout the Summer season and these concerts are free! You don’t have to worry about purchasing your tickets a year in advance, as you would have to with national music festival. Just stop by one night and enjoy the tunes by local artists.
It’s important to note that all these events are family friendly and admission is free.
Mashpee has four different summer concert series:
Popponesset Marketplace Concerts. These are held each Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Each day and week features a local band in a cozy little part of the Poppy. There are benches and canopies provided, in case you want to sit down and be out of the sun. There are also shops around where you can get something to eat and refreshing beverages. View the full schedule of events for Summer 2018 at Popponesset Marketplace.
Live Music Thursdays. These are held weekly each Thursday evening from 6-8 PM at the Mashpee Commons Bandstand between June and September. Follow the event page on Facebook, which also includes listing of the weekly Movie Night Wednesdays events.
The Mashpee Commons also has the First Friday Concert Series held on the first Friday of each month from June to September 6-8 PM at the Central Square. Follow the event page on Facebook.
Something you could do either before or after the concerts in the Mashpee Commons is to go out to eat at one of the many restaurants in the area. There is Bobby Byrne’s if you want a good, old-fashion American meal or Siena if you feeling up for having a more exquisite meal.
Mashpee Summer Concert Series. Held every Tuesday evening beginning July 10th and going through August 28th, 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM at the Mashpee Community Park located on Great Neck Road North, across from the Town Hall. A good suggestion would be to bring a picnic basket for dinner. View more upcoming events with the Mashpee Recreation Department.
