The Mashpee Dog Park opened on the morning of July 15th. The park is a spacious area with separate sections for younger dogs, older dogs, and a training area. It is a wonderful place to take your canine companions out and to let them roam free of leashes. The Mashpee Dog Park is a part of Heritage Park and is located on Ashmut Road, which is located just off Route 130.
The Mashpee Community Park has been recently renovated and has been opened since Memorial Day. The park now features new parking spots, walking paths, benches, and picnic tables, as well as a covered pavilion where live music and other performances are held. If you want a quick bite to eat, be on the lookout for “Food Truck Fridays,” which brings food truck vendors to the park until August 26th. The recreation department will also introduce events from golf to paddle boarding, which is held one Saturday per month from June through August. The Mashpee Community Park is located at the intersection of Route 130 and Great Neck Road North, across from the Town Hall.
The Mashpee Village Green is located on Steeple Street in the Mashpee Commons, across the street from the Mashpee Public Library. This location has been the site of several Mashpee Chamber events, including the Clam Bake and La Tavola. Businesses within the Mashpee Commons have held events here, and it is open to the public.
The Town of Mashpee Splash Pad is located at Heritage Park, on 520 Main Street. It has been open since 2012. It’s a concrete pavilion that is a wonderful way for children to cool off on summer days and either spend time with their friends or make new friends. There is an enclosure where parents or grandparents can watch their child play safely. It is meant to be open throughout the summer, but it will stay open into the fall if the weather permits it. Admission is free and open to the public from 9 AM to 7 PM.
