MASHPEE, Mass. — Mashpee Commons will host the annual Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod’s “Shed for Homes Raffle,” a fundraising event to advance the nonprofit organization’s mission to partner with local families to create affordable home ownership.
The 8- by-10-foot shed, valued at $4,000 and built by students at Cape Cod Regional Technical High School, will be on display at Mashpee Commons in the plaza near Siena restaurant starting Friday, April 22. The winner of the shed will be drawn on Saturday, May 28.
“Habitat for Humanity Cape Cod plays a significant role in providing vital affordable housing for families in need throughout the region,” said Sarah Chace, partner, Mashpee Commons. “We are committed to help alleviate the Cape’s housing crisis and welcome the opportunity to support and participate in raising funds for Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod.”
Raffle tickets are available at the Mashpee Commons shed display, Habitat for Humanity Cape Cod’s ReStore locations in Falmouth and Yarmouth and online at www.habitatcapecod.org.
Cost for raffle tickets is $5.00 for one, $20.00 for five and $40.00 for fifteen. The shed will be delivered to the winner, free of charge, anywhere on Cape Cod, if your property is safe and accessible.
Ticket holders will also have an opportunity to win a $200.00 Mashpee Commons gift certificate and two Adirondack chairs, valued at $500.
“We are so grateful to Mashpee Commons for hosting this year’s shed raffle and look forward to a successful fundraising event for our organization,” said Ginny Irving, Director of Resource Development, Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod. “The high traffic shed display location at The Commons will provide invaluable exposure to thousands of people, providing them an opportunity to learn more about our work on Cape Cod.”
