Maritime Meanderings Rack Cards
Thanks to a grant from CARE for the Cape & Islands, support through the MA Cultural Council grant to the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce—and advice from a number of our great historical societies–we put together a set of self-guided tours of our seafaring heritage. These Maritime Meanderings draw attention to the unique character of the region, its place in history, and the impact of our surrounding environment. They combine stops at places with related experiences, well-known vistas, lesser-visited sites, various cultural sites, historic structures and public art.
We have emailed the various locations in case they want any of these themselves, but think the distribution from the various Chambers of Commerce is critical. If you can possibly create a link on your website to where they can download them directly that would be great. Right now, they are featured on www.CapeCodMaritimeDays.com
All four regions (Upper, Mid, Lower and Outer) will be distributed from our own visitor center at the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, and we are giving the local chambers the sections they are in. For the on-line pages there are short descriptions with a link to their websites. To give these a youthful voice, we asked Shannon MacDonald of Barnstable High School to write them. I think she did a great job, but, if you think any of them need an edit or correction, let me know. You can read it at http://www.whycapecod.org/outercape
Laura will deliver them to you sometime in the near future. Thanks!
