STEM Challenge – Perler Beads
Saturday, January 5th – 2 to 3pm
What are Perler Beads? Perler Beads (also known as Hama beads or Nabbi beads) are plastic fusible beads. These colorful beads can be arranged on plastic pegboards to form patterns, designs or pixel art. The beads are then fused together with a clothes iron. Students age 8 and up are invited to join us to learn about the art of Perler Beads and then create their own unique design. Both boys and girls will love using Perler Beads in our makerspace. Drop in – No registration required.

Family Story Time

MCBA Book Club
Thursday, January 17th – 4:30 to 5:30pm
MCBA Book Club is for 4th to 6th graders who enjoy reading new books! Salem State University founded the Massachusetts Children’s Book Award in 1975. Every year there are 25 nominated titles of recently published books, and children in grades 4 to 6 must read at least 5 titles in order to be eligible to vote for their favorite book. We meet once a month on Thursdays.
This month we are reading Newbery Honor book Wolf Hollow by Cape Cod author, Lauren Wolk. This New York Times bestseller will get children thinking about compassion, justice, the importance of speaking out, and how to judge someone’s character. Space is limited and registration is required. Please call 508-539-1435 ext. 3001 or email jburke@clamsnet.org.
