It is Massachusetts Open Enrollment season from now through January 23, 2020. This is the time period when patients who qualify for one of the state’s subsidized health insurance plans can apply for and select coverage through the Connector. If Community Health Center of Cape Cod patients miss this opportunity to enroll in or change their Connector plan, they will not be able to do so again until next November.
CHC has staff at all of its offices who are trained to help patients with insurance enrollment. Our Insurance Enrollment Center in Mashpee is open Monday-Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Liz Lynch can assist any individuals with the insurance application. No appointment is necessary.
Open Enrollment should not be confused with the MassHealth Plan Selection Period, which is the period when an individual who qualifies for Medicaid (not a subsidized Connector plan) can change from one ACO to another without demonstrating a qualifying need for the change. Plan selection periods are specific to individual patients and based on the date when they became eligible for MassHealth.
