Highfield Announces New Leadership

The Board of Trustees of Highfield Hall & Gardens (HH&G) is pleased to announce the appointment of Co-Executive Directors: Lisa Walker, Tara Keefe Burke, and Joanne Ingersoll. The team brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the leadership of HH&G and is poised to take a dynamic, visionary, and community-first approach to the organization’s future that will ensure long-term sustainability and ongoing benefit to Falmouth, Cape Cod, and beyond.

“This new leadership structure exemplifies the fresh thinking that Lisa, Tara, and Joanne bring to HH&G. With an eye toward maintaining the best of what the community knows and loves about Highfield, the team will streamline operations, increase financial support, and provide residents and visitors with a new year-round calendar of exhibitions and programs,” says Nancy Porter, Highfield Hall & Gardens Board of Trustees Chair.

The co-Executive Directors will serve jointly as the public face and spokespersons for the organization, cultivating a culture of excellence and collaborative management geared toward elevating all aspects of the operation.

“Over the past six months we have come together and created a strong working relationship built on communication, transparency, and a respect for the individual strengths we each bring to the table – this is why we have no doubt we can lead jointly. Together we have discussed our shared vision for Highfield and are excited with the potential,” said Lisa Walker speaking on behalf of the Co-Executive Directors.

In addition to their shared responsibilities, each will continue in their original administrative roles.

Joanne Ingersoll holds the position of Chief Interpretation and Engagement Officer responsible for programs and exhibitions. As a professional museum curator, writer, and teacher with expertise in art, design, and social history, her focus is on developing art, music, culinary, and garden program content and creating a high-quality visitor experience.

Lisa Walker, Chief Development Officer, has an extensive background in nonprofit development that spans the fields of art, science, and education. Responsible for directing all development and fundraising activities that support day-to-day operations, community programming, and capital needs, Walker’s focus is on defining and implementing strategic goals that will lead to the organization’s long-term financial stability.

Tara Keefe Burke brings a high level of expertise in business development and fiscal management to the organization. As Chief Operating Officer she oversees daily operations, administration, facilities, and maintains a strong operational infrastructure that includes staff and volunteer oversight. Burke is charged with maintaining high standards in financial management and reporting and works closely with the Board Treasurer to ensure the organization’s overall fiscal health.
