ALL Non-construction volunteers and NEW volunteers please create your online accounts today.
If you have never signed up ONLINE to volunteer with Habitat Cape Cod before, now is the time to create your account.
We would like ALL Habitat Cape Cod volunteers, including Board Members, office team, family partners, snack, devotion, registration, ReStore, event, and more to make online accounts.
This will ensure that we have your updated contact information, as well as a current waiver and your emergency contact information on file.
Over the next few months, you will have the chance to sign up for many types of opportunities online, as we gradually add them to the site.
Please don’t make a new account if you already have one. If you had an account on Volunteer Up, and you were an active construction volunteer, then you would have recently received an activation email from Habitat Connect. If you already have an account, Habitat Connect will recognize your email and ask you to reset your password and update your information the first time you log in.
Here is the Habitat Connect Link and below are some tips to help you get the most out of the site.
Click Here for a video that will walk you through the entire registration process, so you will know what to expect before you start.
During the registration process, pay particular attention to the following areas:
The term PROGRAM is used often in Habitat Connect. Every construction site will be its own PROGRAM (such as Paul Hush Way, Degrass Rd, and Durkee Lane). The ReStores each have their own PROGRAM, and Special Events has a PROGRAM.
Medical Notes: Add any information that is important to know in the event of an emergency.
Skills: Think of basic “skills” as interests. If you would like to sign up for construction, ReStore and event volunteer opportunities, then please remember to check off Construction, ReStore and Events as your “skills”, even if you are inexperienced. There are other more specific “skills” you can check off if you are genuinely skilled in those areas.
Become a FAN: Make sure that you become a FAN of those programs that interest you. As a FAN, you will receive notifications from Connect every time something new is posted for the program. A good example of something new is an update to the calendar which lists a new month of shifts for volunteering.
Sign your waiver: Waivers are now handled differently. They are online and signed digitally. Once signed, you are qualified to volunteer anywhere within Habitat of Cape Cod for the next twelve months. At the end of that period, Connect will send you a notification to renew your waiver for another twelve months. Please note that a signed waiver is required before signing up to volunteer for any shifts. Find your waiver by going to your Dashboard then clicking Volunteer Resume then clicking Qualifications.
Availability: This is a new section that you will be asked to complete. Make sure you mark those days you are available to volunteer. This information is used if we need to schedule additional days of work. For example, if construction volunteers are needed for Thursday, which is not one of the normally scheduled days, an email will be sent to those volunteers who are a FAN of the program and who noted that they are AVAILABLE on Thursdays.
We do not have any opportunities posted yet. We hope you will take this time to complete your registration and then take a look around the new site. Become familiar with the PROGRAMS and the other information available. Try it out on your desktop computer, tablet, and phone.
Remember, once you are a FAN of a program, you’ll start receiving the notices about new opportunities.
Please reach out with any questions or concerns.
