Representative Hunt Announces Christmas and Holiday Card Drive for Military Service Members
SANDWICH – State Representative Randy Hunt (R-Sandwich) announced that he will be collecting Christmas and Holiday cards for our military troops serving overseas. Working in conjunction with Cape Cod Cares for Our Troops, Representative Hunt’s office will act as a collection point and forward the cards directly to our military service members.
Participants are encouraged to drop off unsealed Christmas and Holiday cards addressed to “American Service Member” at 297 Quaker Meeting House Road in East Sandwich. If the office is not open, please leave them in the 24-hour drop box.
The last day for the collection is Friday, November 23th. Cape Cod Cares for Our Troops will be packing boxes for shipment at the old Sports Authority store in Hyannis’ Cape Wind Plaza on Saturday, November 25th from 10am to 4pm. Volunteers to assist with the packing effort are needed.
If you know a service member who would like to receive a care package, Cape Cod Cares for Our Troops is still collecting names of recipients at email@example.com.
“I believe it is important to express our gratitude for the sacrifices our armed forces make to protect our country and I am privileged to be able to help Cape Cod Cares for Our Troops with their annual Christmas and Holiday drive,” said Representative Hunt. “We tend to forget that there are many military men and women continuing to serve in foreign countries and in dangerous situations.”
