cotuit center for the artsThe Cotuit Center for the Arts was founded in 1993, originally located in a garage. The programs offered were for art and music classes; the original site also had community art exhibition space. The garage burnt down in April 2000 and the community came together with donations. The current location opened in May 2004 and since then, the performance space has been home to numerous art exhibitions, theatrical productions, musical performances, workshops, and community events.

Theater – The Cotuit Center for the Arts produces six or seven main stage productions a year, and about a dozen Black Box productions annually. On the 2nd Wednesday of each month, there is also staged reading. Applying for auditions is available at the Cotuit Center for the Arts website.

Gallery – The Cotuit Center for the Arts is home to one of the most beautiful art exhibitions on Cape Cod. The art gallery consists of two levels, which extends into the theater space. Each display stays up for approximately 4-6 weeks. Works featured are made by local, regional, and international artists.

Concerts – The Cotuit Center for the Arts holds as many concerts as possible throughout the year. Local, regional, and international artists come to perform on the Center’s main stage, art gallery, and art studio. Along with single event concerts, there’s also regular series that goes on throughout the year. The Center also hosts the Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival and the Provincetown Jazz Festival.

Film – The Cotuit Center for the Arts hosts a series of film displays throughout the year, including winners of the annual Woods Hole Film Festival.

Classes – The Cotuit Center for the Arts provides classes in a warm and inviting environment, where members of the community can come together to get creative, socialize with others, and to try something new.
