Shop and Dine for a Cause at Mashpee Commons benefiting ACS Nov. 5
MASHPEE – The American Cancer Society has teamed with Bobby Byrnes of Mashpee Commons for “Shop and Dine for a Cause” from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 5.
During that time, 15 percent of sales at Kensington’s and Port Cargo will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
The evening will also feature a “Luminaria Ceremony,” during which Luminaria bags are transformed and illuminated at 7:30. Each luminaria is personalized with a name, photo, message or drawing in memory or honor of a friend or loved one who has been affected by cancer.
Luminaria bags should be decorated prior to the event and may be purchased for $10 during regular business hours at Kensignton’s now through Nov. 5.
Proceeds will benefit the lifesaving work of the American Cancer Society and support American Cancer Society-funded research and free services offered to cancer patients, like rides to and from cancer treatments, lodging for cancer patients and their caregivers who must travel a great distance for lifesaving treatment, health insurance assistance, and financial services through the Patient Advocate Foundation.
