United States Congressman Bill Keating has been a fierce and relentless advocate in favor of restoring the H2B cap for the returning worker to the 2016 level. Meanwhile, U. S. Senators, Elizabeth Waren and Ed Markey ignore the pleas from their own Massachusetts small businesses in response to pressure backed by big labor.
Last Friday Congressman Bill Keating conducted a roundtable discussion regarding the pursuit of a legislative solution that ensures a continued and pragmatic use of the H2B or the J1 Student Work & Travel visa programs that supplements so much of Cape Cod’s seasonal workforce not filled by American workers. An important conclusion of that discussion was that whether yours is a direct user of temporary alien labor or a business that is indirectly affected by the success or failure of the Cape’s businesses that utilized these programs, your support of the lobbying efforts of the New England Seasonal Business Coalition (NESBC) is needed to help ensure the survival of all local small businesses in the region.
