Kid’s Original Art Show & Sale
The Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod, located in Mashpee, will be holding a children’s art show and sale on Thursday, May 4 from 4:30-6pm. Called “Kids Create,” the art show will feature original work s of art created by the children themselves. All sales at the Art Show will benefit the Club’s Art Program, which provides instruction in the arts, including drama, instruction in different media, arts and crafts, photography, and clay animation movie making.
The Boys & Girls Club provides basically free after school and affordable summer programs that are open to any Cape Cod child or teen, age 6-18. The Club is open on from 2-6 most weekdays for any Cape Cod child age 6 and in grades 1-8. The teen program is open at Mashpee High from 2-6 and then moves to the Kraft Family Boys & Girls Clubhouse from 6-8 Monday to Thursday and from 6-10 on Fridays. The Club is also open from 7:30 to 6:00 on school vacation days and for a $5 fee in the morning on Mashpee and Sandwich half days, with pick up arranged in advance at the Sandwich K-8 schools, thanks to a grant from the Sandwich Kiwanis Club.
Membership for the after school program is $100 for the entire school year, $10 for the teen program, and $165 a week in the summer with summer camp scholarship funds available on a needs basis.
The Boys & Girls Club is centrally located on the Upper Cape near the Mashpee Rotary and Mashpee Commons off of Route 151 on 31 Frank E. Hicks Drive behind the Mashpee Police & Fire Stations.
