It’s Autumn in Mashpee!

Can you believe fall season is already here? The weather will begin getting cool soon, don’t expect this unusual warmth to hang around for very long. Leaves are already beginning to change colors and it’s time to close the pool for the season. Fortunately, we here at the Mashpee Chamber of Commerce know some of the businesses that can help with fall necessities such as leaf blowers and storm shutters.

Cape Cod Retractable says Retractable Screens, Retractable Awnings, Canopies and Storm/Security Shutters all need attention this time of year. They will provide services to help you protect your investment throughout the fall and winter months.

Storm/Security Shutters – Before you close your home or business for the summer, contact Cape Cod Retractable to schedule an appointment. Their trained technicians will clean all debris and sand from the tracks, slates and cover so the shutter will operate smoothly during those fall, winter, and spring storms.

Fixed Frame Awnings and Canopies – Make your appointment with Cape Cod Retractable now to have your fixed frame awning or canopy cleaned and/or taken down for the winter. For your convenience, they can also schedule your spring installation at the same time – avoiding the spring rush. Cape Cod Retractable will also store your fabric in their climate-controlled warehouse.

Retractable Awnings and Valances – Before you clean up your retractable awning for the last time, schedule your annual cleaning. Your fabric will last longer and look better with regular professional cleanings. It is strongly recommended that you also remove and store your valance so that it won’t be flapping in the winter winds.

Tips on retractable screens:
– Regularly lubricate the top and bottom tracks with silicone spray. If you need silicone, don’t hesitate to contact Cape Cod Retractable. Clean out sand and debris that can cause the screen to run rough or get stuck. Cleaning can easily be done with a broom or vacuum.
– Make sure your screen is completely in the housing unit when not being used. Your mesh can be damaged by wind, drifting snow, and flying debris.

Another business offering their useful service is Stewart Painting.

“Fall is a GREAT time to do outdoor work and can actually SAVE you money by not waiting until next year. There is a reason the last thing our owner does before winter is wash his own home and business. Winter will add more mold, dampness and rot to damaged wood and make repairs even more costly next year.” Stewart Painting is booking through the month of October! Call 508-362-8023 today.

Cape Leisure offers several pages on how to keep your outdoor furniture in shape through the winter. Check out their Facebook page for the links to each individual page.

Also, be sure to check out the Mashpee Pumpkin Patch, now at the intersection of Frank Hicks Drive and Route 151 in Mashpee adjacent to the police station.
