First Night 2017 Celebrations

First Night Events on Cape Cod

Can you believe we’re already half-way through December? New Year’s Eve is just a few days away! The year sure flew by, didn’t it; it’s like they say, time goes by quicker as you get older. There’ll be celebration across the country and around the world to ring in 2017, but why go far and spend money when you can just stay right here on Cape Cod for the festivities?

There’s going to be two First Night events on Cape Cod—in Chatham and Sandwich. In addition to that, the Cape Cod Children’s Museum is going to have a Noon Year Eve party at noon for the kids. How fun!

First Night Chatham
“Come join us for First Night Chatham! We are a family-friendly, alcohol-free, town-wide celebration of the arts with over 70 performances and events. December 31st, 2016 will be First Night Chatham’s 26th New Year’s Eve celebration. It’s a day full of fun and entertainment, starting with the Town Photo at the Chatham Lighthouse at Noon, and culminating with Fireworks at Oyster Pond as the Countdown Cod takes us to the stroke of midnight.”

“First Night Sandwich 2017, Sandwich Village “Town of Giants” will celebrate its fifth annual event on Saturday, December 31, 2016, from 4 to 9 pm.  This New Year’s Eve non-alcoholic family festival of the arts and multicultural activities, musical presentations, and live performances is located in venues both inside and outside in and around Sandwich Village. The community celebration of music, art and dance is open to all, from 4 to 9 PM.

A Reveler’s Parade is held at 8 pm. Organizations that would like to march in the parade are asked to register on the Participate/Volunteer page. We welcome all to this great community event. There will be ice sculptures, children’s ice skating rink, lighted giants in the village and along Route 6A, children’s crafts, an enchanting fairy garden, jazz, blues, food vendors, storytelling, a Resolution Wall, Grand Finale Countdown with lighthouse, cannon fire, giant sparklers, and fireworks. The finale will be held at Town Hall, following the parade.”
