The Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod February School Vacation Week Activities
Working during school vacation but need a safe and fun place for your kids to go? The Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod, located in Mashpee, will be open during the February school vacation for any Cape Cod child age 6 and up, and in grades 1- 8 with extended vacation hours to accommodate working parents from 7:30 am until 6 pm during the entire vacation week.
On-site activities are available every day at the Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod’s Kraft Family Clubhouse in Mashpee. The daily programs at the Clubhouse cost $10 per day for members, and $20 a day for non-members. There is no need to pre-register for the onsite program, it is a drop-in program, so kids can come at any time during the vacation week that that the Club is open. Kids coming to the Clubhouse during the vacation week must bring a lunch and two snacks if they are going to be at the Club all day.
On-site activities at the Clubhouse available every day, include arts and crafts, sports, games, computers, STEM activities, video games, and other special vacation events.
In addition to the daily programs at the Kraft Family Clubhouse in Mashpee, the Club also runs special field trips for an additional fee which covers the cost of the trips.
Pre-registration for the field trips only is required! Space on field trips is first come, first served, with prepayment required. The Club’s trained professional staff will accompany the children on the field trips and supervise them while there. The field trips are as follows:
Monday, February 20: Coco Key Indoor Water Park in Danvers. Cost: $40 includes transportation & park admission. Leave @ 8:00 am and return @ 5:00 pm;
Tuesday, February 21: Cape Cod Museum of Natural History and the Whale Exhibit in Brewster. Cost:$10. Leave at 11:30 am and return at 3pm.
Wednesday, February 22: Ice Skating at Falmouth Ice Skating Arena. Cost: $10 and skate rental is included. Leave at 11am and return at the 2pm.
Thursday, February 23: Bowling & the Arcade at Ryan Family Amusement in Falmouth. Cost: $10. Includes bowling & shoes. Leave @ 12:00 pm and return @ 2:30 pm.
Friday, February 24: Snow Tubing at Nashoba Valley for grades 3-8 only. Cost: $40. Children must be 42” TALL, dressed appropriately and have a signed Parental Waiver. Leave @ 7:30 am and return @ 3:30 pm;
Trips fill up fast, so please register as soon as possible, but be aware, there are no refunds unless a trip is canceled due the weather or unless the space can be filled from the waitlist.
To spend the day at the Boys & Girls Club during the vacation week, or to go on any field trip, children must be, or become, members of the Boys & Girls Club or pay the $20 daily non-member vacation fee, and fill out an emergency contact/registration form available on line. Club membership is $100 for the entire school year, and includes unlimited use of the Club’s programs including in the gym, the high speed internet computer room, the arts and crafts programs, foosball, air hockey, Teen and TV room, education programs, homework help, free tutoring, character and leadership programs, and more whenever the Club is open for a child’s age group.
The Boys & Girls Club provides basically free after school and affordable summer programs that are open to any Cape Cod child or teen, age 6-18. The Club is open on from 2-6 most weekdays for any Cape Cod child age 6 and in grades 1-8. The teen program is open at Mashpee High from 2-6 and then moves to the Kraft Family Boys & Girls Clubhouse from 6-8 Monday to Thursday and from 6-10 on Fridays. The Club is also open from 7:30 to 6:00 on school vacation days and for a $5 fee in the morning on Mashpee and Sandwich half days, with pick up arranged in advance at the Sandwich K-8 schools, thanks to a grant from the Sandwich Kiwanis Club.
