Cape and Islands United Way Funding Opportunities

Cape and Islands United Way Announces Funding Opportunities
(Centerville, MA) The Cape and Islands United Way will offer more than a half million dollars to local nonprofits in their next round of Community Impact grant funding. Organizations who serve the human needs of residents in Barnstable, Dukes and Nantucket counties may apply for up to $25,000 per program. A brand-new United Way funding opportunity supporting community volunteer projects is also now accepting applications.

Community Impact Grants support human-service programs in the categories of HEALTH, EDUCATION, HOUSING, and FINANCIAL STABILITY/BASIC NEEDS. New this year, the application process will be entirely online, making it easier for nonprofits to apply. A Letter of Intent, providing a short summary of the community need and proposed program, must be submitted by October 20, 2017. Organizations selected to proceed in the application process will be invited to submit a full proposal in January, 2018. Application instructions are available at www.uwcapecod.org/grants.

The United Way’s newest funding opportunity, Mobilizing Volunteers Micro Grants Program, offers one-time funding of $500 to $2500 to support volunteer projects that improve the community and encourage engagement. The new grant program is part of the United Way’s ongoing effort to promote the value of volunteerism and connect potential volunteers to opportunities through Cape Cod Volunteers. Local organizations – including schools, civic and neighborhood associations, environmental groups and senior centers — may apply for the funds and need not have nonprofit status. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. A simple application may be completed online at www.uwcapecod.org/grants.

Further information, including application instructions, may be found at www.uwcapecod.org/grants.

About The Cape & Island United Way
The Cape and Islands United Way is a local and independent organization dedicated to improving lives and strengthening communities on Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket. The United Way family of donors and volunteers raises money, leverages resources, and donates time and talents to drive collective and sustainable community change, while also providing a safety net for emergency needs. We encourage and facilitate volunteerism through Cape Cod Volunteers and support MASS-2-1-1, a free and confidential 24/7 information and support line that connects those seeking assistance to the services they need. 100% of every dollar raised stays on Cape Cod and the Islands to serve local residents.
