The summer is upon us once again and this means longer daylight hours, warmer weather, and the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful outdoors. Music is an Important part of these summer days, from national week-long music festivals to local concerts featuring local artists. Various spots throughout Cape Cod holds a summer concert series each year and these concerts are free to the public. You don’t have to worry about purchasing tickets a year in advance, as you would have to with national music festivals. Just stop on by one night and enjoy the tunes local artists have to provide!
Two Summer Concert Series are going on right now locally and one of them is right here in Mashpee! The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod does an annual TD Bank Summer Concert Series to help local artists gain recognition. The town of Mashpee has welcomed these summer concert series on numerous occasions, and it’s a wonderful way to draw the crowd in to our lovely town.
Perhaps you could spend a Tuesday afternoon in the Mashpee Commons, have a quick dinner, before going to the Mashpee Community Park. Personally, my favorite restaurant is Siena and Bobby Byrnes’ Pub. Both serve mouth-watering appetizers, entrees, desserts, and even drinks.
The Mashpee Community Park is located across the street from the Mashpee Town Hall, on Great Neck Road North near the stoplight. Stop by between 6 PM and 7:30 PM each Tuesday.
The other local Summer Concert Series taking place on Cape Cod is the Concert by the Canal Series.
The Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce, along with Eastern Bank, is putting on a series of concert at the Gazebo in Buzzard’s Bay, located on Main Street. Admission is free, so go between 6:30 PM and 8:30 PM each Thursday to hear local artists.
