The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod will host its 9th Annual Member Winter Art Exhibit at the Cotuit Center for the Arts. The 2016 juried exhibit is titled Balancing Act, and will feature 48 local artist’s interpretations of the theme. The exhibit will be open to the public starting January 10 and will run through February 14, 2016.
Throughout the five-week exhibit many local schools and youth organizations will be hosted by a trained docent. Keeping the younger patrons in mind, artwork for the show will be displayed at a height of 4 feet throughout the exhibit – right at children’s eye level. Many of the artists themselves will drop in to discuss their works with the students as they tour the exhibit.
“This is a great partnership between the Arts Foundation and our local schools. For some kids this may be the first time they have ever visited an art gallery. Our goal for the students is to create engaged learners and active thinkers through the power of art,” said Julie Wake Executive Director of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod.
