1st Annual Mashpee/Falmout Kiwanis Golf Tournament

Kiwanis Clubs of Mashpee & Falmouth, MA

Dear Fellow Community Member,

kiwanis golfOpiate addiction has become a real concern in our Cape Cod Communities over the recent years. The epidemic continues to gain strength as medical facilities continue to over-prescribe pain killers, enabling us and eventually our youth to develop dependency on these drugs. Developing a dependency to opiates can often times carry deadly consequences.

How can we help fight the epidemic that’s sweeping our region? The key in fighting addiction is education. There are programs within the Falmouth and Mashpee Communities that are designed to educate consumers about opiate addiction as well as help those who are affected on their path to recovery. Without these programs, we could be standing by and watching while opiate addiction takes over our schools and our streets.

The mission of Kiwanis International is to change the world, one child at a time. We do so by helping programs, like those described above, gain traction in communities throughout the world. The Kiwanis Club of Mashpee and the Kiwanis Club of Falmouth have come together with a common goal of eliminating the threat of opiate addiction in our respective towns. We will be fighting addiction by raising funds to help addiction education programs obtain resources and gain visibility within the Mashpee and Falmouth Communities. The more widespread our message becomes, the sooner we can prevent the spread of addiction.

Our main fundraising event to support opiate addiction education programs will be our First Annual Mashpee-Falmouth Kiwanis Golf Outing being held at The Ridge Club on May 9, 2016. Please find a tournament entry form linked here. We hope that you will join us in our fight against addiction through your involvement in our annual golf outing. Our goal is to raise $10,000 each year to support opiate addiction programs in Mashpee and Falmouth, but we can’t do it without your support! Please consider sponsoring our event and/or entering your foursome today!

Should you have any questions regarding the event, please feel free to reach out to us directly via phone or e-mail. You will find our contact information below and we look forward to seeing you on the links on May 9th!
