Would you love to spend the day on the water fishing with friends? Here’s your chance. Or how about bringing your work outside – create your own corporate team. Ladies, how about an all woman’s team? Come and fish. Winners earn bragging rights and cash prizes for the top three fish in the Bass category, the Blues Category and one prize for biggest fish overall.
The fishing tournament will run from 5am to 3pm on Friday June 30th. Besides fishing, there will be a pig roast and awards banquet at a private water view home in New Seabury. The captain’s meeting is the night before at the Raw Bar at Popponesset Market Place. A raffle and auction will follow. Auction items include Patriots and Red Sox ticket, plus much more.
Don’t fish? No worries. You can purchase tickets to just attend the pig roast and auction – you don’t want to miss the fun.
The Bass and Blues Fishing Tournament was created by a group of guys who love to fish and are passionate about helping the youth in the community. Paul Squarcia, one of the founders and board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Cape Cod, says “When you hear the stories of the kids in the program and talk to them about the impact the club has made in their lives, it makes you want to do more. It is so important for children to have a safe place to grow.” The Boys and Girls Club of Cape Cod is that safe place.” One of the youth members in the program said, “Being in the club one night changed my life. I realized I did not have to do drugs or get in trouble to have fun.” We could use your help to continue the work of the Boys and Girls Club of Cape Cod, fish the tournament, or join us at the pig roast.
Last year, the Fishing Tournament raised over $20,000. We are looking for more sponsors this year and would like to thank One Charles Private Wealth, Bosuns Marina, New Seabury Marina and the Raw Bar for their continued support.
This will be our 12th Tournament! To sign up online visit the special events page on the Boys and Girls Club of Cape Cod website. www.boysgirlsclubcapecod.org
